Varicose or Spider Veins

Varicose or Spider veins develops in people due to a number of different causes. It is more common in woman than men. Varicose-veinsBut there is a way to prevent it.

Symptoms includes; swelling, pain, itching, sores, heavy feeling, fatigue and cramps in the affected parts. Varicose or Spider veins are very common in the legs, but it can appear on other areas. The most common causes includes;

 

  • standing or sitting for long periods.
  • Poor exercise.
  • Obesity (Overweight)
  • Poor circulation
  • Pregnancy
  • Smoking

This is just a few common causes of Varicose veins. If you are in doubt, please consult your doctor to find the cause of your varicose veins, it might be due to a serious health problem.

 

Things you can do to help prevent the formation of Varicose or Spider veins;

  • Eat a balanced diet that includes fruits and veg.
  • Prevent constipation, eat high fiber cereals to help your bowels.
  • Try to avoid sugar, fried foods, tobacco, salt and refined foods.
  • Exercise. walking, swimming, dancing or any other that will help to promote your circulation.
  • If you have swelling in your ankles or legs, put a pillow under your feet at night to lift your legs. That will help reduce the swelling.
  • Try not to stand or sit for long periods.
  • Avoid that tight fitting clothes or socks, it reduces your circulation!
  • Regular massages downwards (Hip to foot) will help the circulation and swelling.
  • If you have painful veins, massage it with Tissue Oil or Castor oil.
